How to hunt Pukei-Pukei
A poison-spitting Bird Wyvern; beating it in Chapter 1 unlocks hunting requests and the free Adventurer Madelyn. It is a bird wyvern you meet in the early game. Bring Thunder damage: it is the element its Hunter's Notes entry rates highest. Aim at the head and wings and tail for the most damage. Sleep and Paralysis work on it, according to one guide.
Radiant Pukei-Pukei is the Radiantite-charged version. It keeps the same top weakness as the base form, but hits harder. It is found in Mud Swamp, Misty Forest and Sand Oasis. Its materials go into Radiant armor, whose set bonus differs from the base set.
